Background and History
Prolumina was established in 1979 as ProVideo with a Sears credit card and a small home video camera. The company quickly realized a potential market for litigation support video services and was one of the first companies to broach the 'new' field of forensic videography. With the step into legal videography, ProVideo became a multi-media leader in Seattle’s legal community.

Transitions
The company’s current president, Chris Hazelmann, first began working at the company in 1990. With a degree in communications from Oberlin College and a background in production and corporate communications work, Chris quickly advanced within the company. By the mid-90’s, Chris was the general manager and had started buying in to the company as a minority shareholder.  At the end of 1998, Chris and his wife, Susan, took full control of the company and focused the company’s services and offerings to serve the litigation market exclusively.  In addition, they expanded the company to include technical in-court presentation services.

New Ownership & Services
With the conscious decision to focus the company to litigation services, they also realized that the company needed to do more than simply offer video and production services and started working in court offering technical and presentation services.  By the mid-2000’s, the company had grown dramatically from its beginnings in video and technology and the rebranding to Prolumina reflected this change.

In order to continue to grow and expand the company, they also brought in strategic trial consulting services and the company now has three major service offerings which include: strategic consulting, visual design, and trial technology.  The company is the oldest and largest legal solutions company in the Northwest and enjoys a national reputation and has supported matters all across the country.   As the legal market and demands of litigation continue to evolve and adapt, Prolumina will continue to meet these demands in the most responsive way possible.

New Name
In late 2004, the company changed its name to Prolumina Trial Technologies to reflect its expanded range of services. Derived from the Latin words meaning “toward” and “illumination,” the new name highlights the company’s ability to support litigators by organizing and bringing cases to life in an impactful way.

New Location
In fall of 2005, the company moved out of its long-time Pioneer Square location and into Two Union Square in downtown Seattle. The move enabled us to be closer to our clients (law firms and the courts), to offer customer parking, elevator access and a more-sophisticated video conference and training facility.
