City of Seattle v Pro Basketball LLC

Background:
For the Sonics trial, the new owner of the team wanted to relocate them to Oklahoma City where he was from. The City of Seattle, not wanting to lose the professional basketball franchise, took the new owners to court to uphold the terms of the lease agreement negotiated both to keep the team at the Key Arena and to compensate for the loss of the sports team.

Our Work:
This was a complex contract dispute, and we helped the City of Seattle argue that the team should be held to the terms of the agreement which they had previously negotiated and signed. We provided in-court technology and graphics that were essential to the outcome of the case.
Prolumina helped illustrate that the new owner was taking the team away prematurely, and the City was able to negotiate a monetary settlement to ease the financial loss of losing the team.
